From Brian H Williams at 2006-01-11 21:14:09 : Strange to see somewhere which is still a very busy station, but which doesn't bear any resemblance to the current day. I'm trying to orientate myself- is the junction in the background that between the Tonbridge and Maidstone lines?

From bob at 2007-03-11 19:43:45 : The poignant thing about this locomotive was just over two years prior to this, on Dec 4th 1957, it was involved in the Lewisham train crash. 90 people were killed when it slammed into the back of an electric EMU after its driver overrun red signals in thick fog.
From David Bull at 2007-03-29 12:46:46 : Hi
I am the aslef secretary at Ramsgate and I am researching our branch history . I would like to ask you if I can reproduce some of your photos that relate to Ramsgate onto my branch website at www.aslef-ramsgatebranch.com
Thanks for your help .

From Stuart Marshall at 2007-11-15 20:08:50 : To answer Brian Williams' question, this photo was taken looking west. The train is running down the main line from Hildenborough.
From Mike Creber at 2007-11-18 16:42:06 : The only thing that would have made this excellent photograph stupendous would have been the inclusion of the whole of that spectacular signal gantry! I have a photograph of this locomotive on the up ACE after leaving Okehampton, Devon, passing over Fatherford Viaduct on August 4th, 1964. Incidentally I never 'copped' this locomotive despite living in the Plymouth Friary area whilst steam still reigned supreme!.
